Corey Lankford

Corey Lankford is known for his passion to constantly delve into the infinite possibilities of theater. He was born and raised in McKeesport, PA where he attended McKeesport High School, involving himself in all four years of the school’s musicals. He played major roles in “Annie Get You Gun,” “The Music Man,” “The Pajama Game,” and his final senior year role of Kenickie in “Grease.” Also an athlete, Corey began pursuing football as well as theater at Geneva College, where he majored in Theater Communications. Under the direction and coaching of Professor Harvey Johnson, he was introduced to the teachings of studio theater. He was featured in the musical “Working,” “Arsenic and Old Lace,” and “A School for Scandal.” Corey was also inducted into the Alpha Si Omega theater fraternity where he held the position of House Manager at Geneva’s theater company.

Due to an untimely occurrence in his educational studies, he withdrew from Geneva College in his sophomore year and went home to further his career. While working through his church, Oasis Ministries, Inc in Hazelwood, PA, Corey was ordained as the Creative Arts Director (Corey’s parents are the pastors of Oasis). Under the direction of his mother and Executive Director, Kim Lankford, they established the Oasis Theater Company. Corey went on to create Highway To Heaven which is a Christian-themed dramatization presented in the month of October. The uniqueness of Highway to Heaven has drawn thousands of people with its intense reenactments of life, hell, and heaven. Corey is also the writer and director of Fighting Light Ministries, where he uses skits to illustrate spiritual warfare through biblical application and martial arts.

Besides theater, Corey is very involved in ministry at Oasis as a youth minister and can often be seen speaking the Word of God at various youth conferences in the Pittsburgh area and beyond. His level of transparency and passion for God cause him to be a very unique speaker, helping the lives of as many as the Lord allows. He is also the thematic designer of the Bloodsent Ministry of Music where they have opened for numerous gospel artists such as Gospel Stellar award winner Da Truth, Flame, and Leah Smith.

Overall, Corey is in love with Jesus Christ and values his relationship with God as the highest and most significant priority in his life. He stands firm in the belief that without God and his grace and mercy he would cease to exist. Corey is extremely grateful to have the opportunity to work with the cast and crew of His Place and prays that his life will be a story of hope and inspiration for years to come!
