Douglas J. Webster (Walter)

Douglas J. Webster

Douglas J. Webster, born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, is an artist not trained by conventional means, but is blessed with God-given ability to create amazing works with soft pastels on suede board. His meticulous attention to detail in the images he creates truly sets him apart.

The images seem to speak to the very heart and spirit of those that view his work. When you look at Douglas’s work you sense the passion and emotions, the persona and character of that particular piece, it seems to draw you into that which is taking place. These various images are the very essence and experience of the man.

Witnessing the joy, curiosity and surprise that people express after having experienced his work gives him great pleasure and honor. Most importantly, it propels him forward to create new images, each with his meticulous attention to detail.

Douglas’s work has been exhibited through various venues such as:

  • The John Heinz Pittsburgh Regional History Center
  • Women of Vision, “Striving: Contemporary African American Artist of Pittsburgh.”
  • The Creative and Performing Arts School in the Pittsburgh’s Cultural District. Solo Exhibit
  • Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild Seeing Jazz: A Tribute to the Masters & Pittsburgh Jazz Legends.  An exhibition by curator Gwen Black of New York.
